What to expect on a Sunday morning
We want you to feel welcomed and loved during your visit to Valley Church Clinton, and logistics shouldn’t get in the way of that. Here are a few things you can expect at any given Sunday gathering.
-
Arrival
As you pull into the parking lot, feel free to park close to the door. Go to the front of the building (the north side) where you will be greeted by one of our volunteers. Help yourself to coffee and refreshments, and make yourself at home in our temporary space.
-
Children's Service
At 9:30am, we will have a service specifically for the kids in our church. We value the upcoming generation immensely, and want to provide an experience tailored to them. This is designed for ages 2 year old-5th grade. You can expect the kids to sing a song, have a lesson, and practice a verse of the Bible for memorization.
-
Regular Service
Our regular, or adult service, will follow the children’s service, starting at 10am. Here’s what we do:
Worship: first, we will worship through song and music with 3 songs
Sermon: Next, we will have a sermon that lasts between 15 and 25 mins, with an expository style sermon series (simply going through a book of the Bible, verse by verse for most sermons)
Reflection/Prayer: To end out service, generally we will have 5 minutes of individual meditation, or prayer. Occasionally, we will end the service with a song.
-
Fellowship and Connection
Throughout the morning, feel free to hang out, drink coffee, and chat with the congregation! This can happen during the Children’s service, before the regular service, or even after the services end. We want to connect with you because you are important to us.
-
Dismissal
After everything wraps up, we need to be out of our building by noon. You may see people packing up sound equipment and chairs. Don’t feel rushed out, and don’t feel obligated to help (although you can join in on the fun if you want!).
