Valley Church does not currently claim any denomination, whether tacitly or by means of an official organization or conference. Therefore, we are an independent church with normal, conservative evangelical beliefs. At Valley, while you will find a wide variety of extraneous beliefs, we major in the majors and minor in the minors. In other words, our beliefs live and die in the name of Jesus Christ as Lord, and that He resurrected from the dead, and that He is the way, truth and life. Other beliefs, while very important and may be discussed, will not become a focal point. Valley Church was originally Baptist, so you may find many beliefs closely related.

Valley Church is an elder led and ran church. The team of elders consists of both lay (volunteer) elders, and paid elders (pastors). Elders and pastors both stem from the job title of “shepherd”, thus having the same responsibilities to different degrees. Most of the church decisions will be made by the elder team as a whole, and large decisions that greatly affect the congregation will be put to a vote to active members. Church discipline will also be handled by the eldership. Pastors serving in any official capacity are required to have formal training. Staffing decisions and structure will be handled by the lead pastor.

Around 10 years ago, Pastor Brett began feeling a calling from the Lord to revitalize Valley Church as a planting and sending church. This included sending missionaries from our congregation, and planting churches. Clinton, IN was identified as a potential planting location, and we believe the Lord is leading Valley there. We would never disparage or put down a church currently operating in Clinton (in fact, we would love to work with a church there). However, Clinton is in our vision due to the lack of an obvious thriving church in the greater Clinton area.
